MP backs Wildgoose Centre plans to spread its wings

8th August 2017

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her backing to an adult education centre which is looking to expand with the help of national lottery money.

The Wildgoose Rural Training Centre in Holt Heath looks after young people and adults with special needs at a bespoke 1.5 acre site next to Top Barn Farm.

And Harriett was briefed on plans to expand onto a new site nearby which will include education and recreation areas and is being back by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Clients come from a wide surrounding area to take part in a variety of activities including horticulture, care of animals, cookery and pottery. The new site will allow the centre to take on more clients and offer a wider range of adult education courses for those people with special needs.

Harriett commented: “It is always extremely heartening to visit sites such as these and see happy clients taking part in engaging outdoor and indoor activities.

“The existing Wildgoose centre site is jam-packed full of great spaces to learn but it is clear that they need to expand.

“Luckily, there is a suitable site close by and I was taken on a tour to learn about the growth plans in more detail.

“I hope that their bid for support from the Heritage Lottery Fund is successful and look forward to following their progress as they move towards a great new venue.”
