West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has praised the achievements of local teachers who have seen local primary schools performing well in the latest nationwide assessments.

More than half of primary schools in West Worcestershire saw an big improvement in performance last year. Nine out of ten county schools are rated as either good or outstanding – giving local young people the best possible start.

The data allows parents to see the performance of local schools can be found at www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk and highlights a series of facts including pupil and staff numbers, results and even teacher salaries.

Harriett commented: “The latest publication shows that half of the primary schools in West Worcestershire showed a significant improvement in their results and they are to be warmly applauded for their success.

“They have adapted well to the recently reformed Key Stage 2 tests bringing the curriculum closer to countries with the most successful educational systems.

“I always enjoy visiting local primary schools and these results show that as well as creating a warm and nurturing atmosphere most of our local schools are making a big improvement in attainment as well.

“It is essential to give our local children the best possible start in life and I hope parents will join me in celebrating the hard work and success demonstrated by so many Worcestershire schools.”
