MP marks Remembrance at home and abroad

7th November 2017

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin will attend Remembrance services at home and abroad as part of her Ministerial duties.

Harriett, who is also Minister for Defence Procurement, will be marking the Armistice at events in Australia during a trip there this week, and will represent the Government at a Remembrance ceremony in Cardiff on Sunday.

The MP usually attends services in Tenbury, Pershore and Malvern, but this year her wreaths will be laid by colleagues standing in for her while she carries out her Ministerial duties elsewhere.

Harriett commented: “Remembrance Sunday is an important part of my annual routine and each year I have been proud to be invited to visit local ceremonies and place wreaths in Tenbury, Pershore and Malvern.

“This year, however, my Ministerial schedule means I will need to be away from the constituency this week, but I have identified colleagues who will lay wreaths locally on my behalf.

“I will take pride being able to mark this important event both abroad and at home and encourage as many people as possible to take time on Sunday morning to remember those who gave their lives to preserve our way of life.”
