Chocolate maker has recipe for success

5th October 2020

A Malvern artisan chocolate maker is developing plans to expand her business making hand-crafted treats for local shoppers.

And Irma Goder gave West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin a demonstration of chocolate making from her home-based business in Malvern where she prepares artisan chocolates for sale online.

Irma is hoping to expand her business by converting a garage and shed into work and storage spaces and is looking for funding to help her business to grow.

She has a regular online clientele and is currently working on an advent calendar alongside her range of high-quality chocolate bars and bon bons.

Irma was born in Georgia and the product name – Shokoladi – comes from the Georgian word for chocolate.

Harriett commented: “Irma reached out to me for support during lockdown as she tries to develop her home-based business and she’s looking for local retailers to add to her online customer base.

“I was really impressed with the quality of the chocolate and I have offered her my support as she attempts to turn her micro-business into a much larger operation.”

Irma added: “I am very proud of my chocolate, which is high-quality, vegan and made with ethically-sourced organic ingredients.

“I have exciting plans to expand as well as balancing my role as a working mum, but there is a limit to what I can produce using my own kitchen to hand-make the bars and bon bons.

“I am grateful for the support of Harriett and I hope to follow her advice as I sell my high-quality chocolate to local retailers and online customers.”
