Harriett secures action on heavy lorry complaints

4th November 2019

Traffic enforcement will be stepped up at a county village following complaints about a speeding lorries through Lower Broadheath.

And West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has been assured that the extra measures will be implemented to deter dangerous driving past the busy primary school along the A4204.

Constituents and school pupils contacted Harriett raising their concerns about heavy lorries taking soil through the village away from major housing developments and the Southern Link Road improvements.

The MP wrote to the Safer Roads Partnership, which confirmed that extra measures will be put in place to enforce speed limits and monitor the behaviour of drivers.

Harriett commented: “The main road through Lower Broadheath has seen increasing numbers of heavy lorries and several worried parents and pupils have got in touch asking me to intervene.

“I saw the lorries myself when I visited the primary school last month and I am grateful that the Safer Roads Partnership has agreed to carry out additional enforcement.”
