MP pops on pink for Breast Cancer fundraising launch

19th September 2019

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin popped pink on in the House of Commons to show her support for an annual fundraiser for a breast cancer charity.

Each year, Harriett marks October 18 in her diary to wear pink for the Breast Cancer Now fundraiser and she attended a launch event in Westminster to raise awareness of the initiative.

Anyone can take part in ‘wear it pink’ – often by arranging a pink fancy dress day at their school or workplace and all the money raised will help to fund vital breast cancer research and support.

Harriett said: “Each year, I try to support this national initiative and I was happy to join colleagues in Westminster wearing pink to raise awareness of the campaign and the date.

“Wear it Pink has raised £33million in the 17 years that it has been running and it is such an easy way to support a good cause and raise vital funds.

“Breast cancer still affects so many of us. The money raised is crucial to helping to fund vital breast cancer research and support for those affected by the disease.”
