MP tours museum to celebrate Tenbury’s heritage

9th October 2019

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin last week visited Tenbury’s museum to hear of plans to move to a new permanent home.

Harriett was taken around the exhibits by the museum’s Chair, Liz Finlay, and she was briefed on the latest plans for when the museum moves to its new location on Teme Street.

Nearly a thousand visitors pop in to the popular local attraction each year and it is hoped that more people will come to learn about the town’s heritage when it relocates to the new site.

Harriett commented: “The museum is a wonderful little gem and the volunteers do a magnificent job preserving the town’s history.

“I was closely involved in the discussions with Tesco when the proposals were first suggested to move the museum to the old fire station and I am glad the project is moving forward.

“It will still require funding and I have offered the committee my help as it bids for support to make the move happen sooner rather than later.”
