Royal Mail promises review on Tenbury parcel deliveries

24th May 2019

The Royal Mail has agreed to take another look at the company’s local parcel delivery service during the temporary closure of Tenbury’s Post Office.

Undelivered parcels are available for collection at Leominster’s sorting office but the Royal Mail has agreed to look at an alternative, easier provision for those people who have missed a delivery.

Customers are still able to arrange for re-delivery as usual and local posties are being encouraged to work with customers so that local people aren’t seriously inconvenienced by the temporary arrangements.

Harriett said: “I have written to Royal Mail and asked them to think again about the Leominster plan. It’s a very long way for people to go to collect parcels and I am sure there are easier sorting offices to reach to collect undelivered parcels.

“Unfortunately, only a very short notice period was given before the Post Office was closed down and I am grateful that the Royal Mail is listening to local feedback to try and find the optimal temporary solutions.

“I have been briefed that local posties are using their local knowledge and doing their best to make sure that parcels are delivered to the recipient.

“Re-delivery on a specified date is still possible and I hope that in the short time that we are without a Post Office in Tenbury, people will be able to adapt to the temporary arrangements.”
