MP welcomes county’s £6 million pothole boost

12th November 2018

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has today welcomed the confirmation that the county council has been awarded more than £6 million to fix potholes this winter.

The cash, which is part of a national £420 million fund confirmed by the Chancellor in his budget last month, will be allocated to Worcestershire County Council to fix damaged roads and help with other urgent highway-related repairs.

The investment in the national infrastructure is part of a wider Government commitment to help keep business moving and growing.

Harriett commented: “Cold and wet weather inevitably brings road damage and it is really good to see that the Government is planning ahead to help keep our roads in a good condition.

“In my experience, Worcestershire’s roads are pretty good and the processes to report a pothole work well. This cash confirmation will mean that the county highways team is able to act and repair potholes and other weather-related damage quickly and efficiently.”
