West Worcestershire Conservatives Green Action Day

6th March 2007

Conservatives Champion Malvern Litter Clean-Up

West Worcestershire Conservatives are planning to hold a major Green Action Day on Saturday 10th March in Malvern, starting at 2pm.

Conservative District Council candidates decided to organise the event in Malvern after hearing concerns from local residents who feel that litter in Malvern continues to be a problem. In addition, the health march on Saturday in the centre of town could generate additional litter that otherwise would not get cleaned up for a few days.

And they want local people to get involved to help maximise the benefits which the project will bring to the local area.

Harriett Baldwin, the Conservatives Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire said:

"This project is a great example of the kind of social action that lies at the heart of the modern Conservative Party - not just talking about change, but actually making it happen. Conservatives are dedicated to getting out and being active amongst the local community and making a real difference to life here in Malvern."

If any local residents in Malvern would like to help, we are meeting at the entrance to the Council House in Priory Park at 2pm on Saturday 10th March. We will clean up the park and march route and then progress to Barnard's Green. We will provide litter picking equipment, recycling bags and gloves.
