West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin led pupils from Pendock Primary School in a full-scale debate as part of a demonstration on democracy.
The MP toured the school and helped pupils with their own debate during an assembly at the Gloucestershire school last week.
Harriett took the time to chat to the school’s recently elected council who had their own elections to gain their posts.
Harriett commented: “I want to praise the work of headteacher Hannah Gilroy and her team doing an amazing job to keep this very rural school in great shape.
“The pupils were really interested in democracy, having recently had their own elections too, and I had some really challenging questions to answer.
“Parliament has a really active outreach programme and I encourage Pendock, and every local primary school, to access some of the great services that they offer to help children get a better insight into democracy.
“I hope that the school will be able to visit me, in my place of work, and see the Houses of Parliament in action very soon.”
