MP backs summer ‘Eat Out’ campaign

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has urged people to treat themselves with a meal out as part of the national campaign to support the hospitality industry.

The ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ campaign will see diners able to get discounts on their lunch bills every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this month at participating restaurants.

Harriett has spent much time over the last weeks chatting to a variety of hospitality businesses about plans to encourage customers to dine out again.

And she has visited local eateries herself to show support for the sector as more companies open up and welcome their staff back to work.

Harriett said: “The Government has taken extraordinary steps to help protect businesses and people’s livelihoods and hospitality is one of the industries that will need extra support as we try to protect as many jobs as possible.

“There is a handy postcode checker on the Government website, and I have been really impressed at the quantity and range of local businesses taking part.

“Hopefully the sun will continue to shine, and many more people will be encouraged to take a trip out and treat themselves to a lunch or two and enjoy summer safely.”
