West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin took a VIP tour of Tenbury’s new look pool and gym which have been refurbished after a local fund-raising campaign.
And the refurbished gym and pool changing areas have undergone extensive rebuilding work adding extra space and improved facilities for customers.
Local people have help to raise the funds for the improvements alongside money from housing developers and local grants. Harriett wrote to Sport England earlier in the year to ask the national body to help out as it recovered from flood damage and developed a plan to re-open the new-look gym in a Covid-safe way.
Harriett commented: “Tenbury Community Pool project has always been well supported by local people and I’m hugely impressed by the dedication and hard work of the volunteers who have made this project possible.
“The new facilities look amazing and Tenbury people are so lucky to have a fabulous pool and shiny new gym on their doorstep.
“I’m pleased to hear that clubs and schools are starting to return to use the space in a Covid-safe way and I hope that more people will want to exercise there as the nights draw in.
“I’m pleased to have played a small role in helping the facility to weather this, the most difficult of years, and I hope it has a busy and profitable future.”
