MP to maintain Advice Surgery service

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin will be offering telephone surgery slots while social distancing conventions are in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The MP usually holds face-to-face advice sessions but from this week she will offer a similar service over the telephone to allow safer contact.

Constituents will need to book a slot by emailing harriett.baldwin.mp@parliament.uk. The first telephone surgery session will take place on Friday March 20, replacing the scheduled Malvern surgery.

Regular updates are being posted on social media and constituents are urged to visit Harriett’s website where a range of ‘frequently asked questions’ are answered.

Harriett commented: “I always try to be as available as possible to my constituents but it is clearly unwise to hold face-to-face advice sessions while we are all being urged to avoid unnecessary contact.

“I and my casework team will continue work as normal and local people should email me if they need help or advice.

“I’ll be trying to keep my web pages updated with information to help people access some answers quicker.

“We all hope this period of isolation passes quickly but at this time, I feel this is a wise step to ensure continuity of service without increasing the risk of spreading any infection.”
