West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has called on local people to nominate their favourite pub which has been a community star during the worst of the Covid restrictions.
Each year, Harriett nominates a local pub to represent her constituency in the Parliamentary Pub of the Year awards, but this year the competition is looking to focus on a business that has gone the extra mile during lockdown to help the community.
Pubs all over West Worcestershire have adapted their business to deal with changing trading conditions and some have helped their communities by providing meals for vulnerable people or run community events.
Harriett commented: “I’ve heard of some great tales of businesses going the extra mile to help out and I am keen for local people to nominate these worthy establishments.
“It’s been a really hard year for many hospitality businesses and many still have difficult times. However, the Eat Out to Help Out scheme was very popular, and we all took to the high streets to enjoy over 80,000 meals worth £450,000 in West Worcestershire.
“Anyone who wants to suggest a great local pub can email me and I will nominate one great local business into the national Parliamentary competition.”
