West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a huge cash award from the National Lottery which will support youth activities at Malvern Cube.
The former youth club has been given £167,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to support a youth cafe, a young mum’s group, LGBTQ+ and autism support in a range of services now offered at the centre on Albert Road North.
The latest award is part of a nearly £1million handout to local community projects made this year to help preserve community groups and local services during the global pandemic.
Harriett said: “I’ve supported Malvern Cube since it transitioned out of county council control and it is a fine example of a well-led community resource.
“I am particularly pleased to see youth-focussed activities being supported in this award and welcome the huge efforts made by the team to bid for and win this funding.
“Community groups have really struggled this year and the National Lottery funding has delivered a crucial safety net for organisations of all sizes.
“Congratulations to everyone who volunteers to make the Malvern Cube such a valuable community resource.”
