Dame Harriett Baldwin calls on the Government to back the doubling of the North Cotswold line, and for the Oxford growth commission to look at the work done by Oxfordshire and Worcestershire county councils to find a way to double the frequency of the train services to Oxford.

Dame Harriett Baldwin questions the Treasury Minister on the Office for Budget Responsibility forecast which shows that the farm inheritance tax will raise £500 million in revenue by 2029 which, in the context of tax revenues of over £1,150 billion, is a very small number and a huge risk to food security.

Dame Harriett Baldwin highlights the need for economic growth in rural areas and raises concerned that measures in the Chancellor’s Budget are having the opposite effect.
