I am sorry to have to tell you that I am not aware of any current plans to regulate or cap the price of domestic heating oil. I would, however, encourage all customers who rely on heating oil to shop around to find the most cost-effective supply available locally.

You may already be aware of community bulk buy schemes for domestic heating oil which can also cut costs. In the UK we do have a reduced VAT rate of 5 percent on domestic heating fuel, and we also pay a reduced rate of 5 percent when certain energy-saving products are installed in our homes.

The price of oil is subject to fluctuations and I sincerely hope that prices go down in the near future.
