West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has joined local employers helping to promote apprenticeship programmes at the Chase School.
The MP was invited to the event last week (Friday March 10) as part of the national Apprenticeship Week initiative to encourage more people to look at vocational qualifications.
A dozen employers took part in the mini-careers fair and pupils were encouraged to chat about opportunities on offer.
Harriett commented: “Apprenticeships can offer great opportunities to learn while you earn and I would encourage pupils to look at this option as they chose their career options.
“I often come across local employers who are looking to fill apprenticeships and it is great to see schools like The Chase helping to promote these opportunities.
“As well as being local MP, I am also Minister for Defence Procurement so it was good to see the Army, Navy and Air Force taking stand at the event. The Armed Forces are the largest provider of apprenticeships in the UK and this is a great opportunity to promote a career serving at home and abroad.
“I’m grateful for the efforts of Helena Baxter who is working tirelessly to bring employers and students together. There are many exciting opportunities for young people and it is great to see apprenticeship numbers growing across the county.”
