County MP Harriett Baldwin has written to the new Chancellor George Osborne to pass on local concerns about proposed changes to Capital Gains tax. The West Worcestershire MP today said that she had received a large number of letters and e-mails complaining about the proposed increase in capital gains tax proposed in the Queen’s Speech in the run up to the emergency budget next month. Harriett commented: “My postbag is full of letters from local people worried about how changes to capital gains tax will affect them and their savings. “I have written to the Chancellor to reflect these views and I hope that he will listen to the concerns of many who have been saving all their lives to prepare for their retirement.” The coalition Government will present an emergency budget to the House of Commons on June 22.
