Chase student Eleanor Fleming enjoyed a VIP tour of Downing Street and part of a trip to help celebrate International Women’s Day in Westminster.
The 17 year old student was given a tour of Downing Street, toured the House of Commons and had lunch on the world-famous terrace with her local MP Harriett Baldwin.
The trip, which was organised as part of the international Women’s Day to inspire young women to get interested in politics, ended with tea in the House of Commons Speaker’s apartments.
Harriett said: “Each year I offer one local pupil the chance to come to Westminster and have a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the heart of the UK Government.
“There are more male MPs in today’s House of Commons than there have ever been female MPs.
“Events like this are invaluable in helping to inspire a fresh generation of women to get involved in politics and spread the word when they return to their schools.
“I hope Ellie enjoyed her trip and will return to the Chase to share her experiences with her friends and family.”
