Today, David Cameron attended the first anniversary celebrations of Women2Win, the campaigning group set up to ensure more Conservative MPs are elected.

West Worcestershire Parliamentary Candidate Harriett Baldwin was on hand to mark the remarkable change in the selection of Conservative women since David Cameron became leader.

David Cameron said, "At the moment, there are only 17 women Conservative MPs, less than 10% of our Parliamentary Party. Since Women2Win started one year ago today, 50% of the candidates selected in Conservative-held seats have been women, and 35% of the candidates selected overall in the 75 selection contests that have taken place in the last year are women. We need to do more, but this is real progress."

Harriett Baldwin, Parliamentary candidate for West Worcestershire, where Sir Michael Spicer MP has announced that he is retiring at the next General Election said, "All six constituencies in Worcestershire have now got Conservative MPs or parliamentary candidates in place. Half of them are men and half women, so Worcestershire is at the forefront of the change that is happening in the Conservative party."
