West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a new extra care housing development which is being constructed in Pershore.
The assisted living development is being built alongside a current series of apartments in Cherry Orchard, Pershore and the new block boasts amazing view both of the river and also the Abbey.
The new housing is being built by Rooftop Housing as part of series of new social housing developments in the town.
Harriett was given a tour of the construction site by Rooftop Housing chief executive Boris Worrall and the pair discussed the challenges of delivering extra care housing to meet increasing needs across the county.
Harriett Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, commented: “We are lucky enough to have people living for a really long time in Worcestershire and extra care housing is a great way of allowing married couples to stay living together when one partner becomes ill or infirm.
“I’m pleased whenever I see extra care housing under development and this new block at Cherry Orchard is simply stunning – both in the design and the location.
“Whoever lives here will have both amazing views and easy access to some great bonuses like a hair salon and even a bar. I have offered Rooftop Housing my support as they develop plans for more schemes like this in the county.”
