Harriett Baldwin has today launched a petition on the Number 10 Downing Street website to ask HMRC to raise the rate at which charities can reimburse their volunteer drivers.

This follows her letter yesterday to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling with the same request.

The petition can be found at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/charitydrivers/
or at www.harriettbaldwin.com/petitions

Harriett Baldwin said, "I encourage local charities affected by this issue to sign the petition as well as anyone else who supports the change. Anyone who would like to have their name added and who cannot use the internet can write to me at 209a Worcester Road, Malvern WR14 1SP."
