Harriett Baldwin this week welcomes news that the new wall in Market Street, Tenbury Wells will be finished except from its coping stone by the end of the week.

The coping stones are late coming from the supplier but could be in place in time for New Year's Eve. The foundation area for the new toilets will then be prepared.

Harriett Baldwin said, "The whole process of replacing the Market Street wall in Tenbury has been painfully slow and drawn out. I am glad to hear the news that it is about to be completed. I welcome the results of the design competition for the new toilets to go next to the wall and I look forward to them being constructed and opened in 2009.

I continue to seek further financial help to protect Tenbury Wells from future flooding from our local councils, from the Environment Agency, from Alistair Darling and from the EU."
