Harriett Baldwin MP today welcomed the official Royal opening of Malvern’s new community hospital.
The 24 bed facility was officially opened by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and VIPs from all over the county attended the ceremony.
Harriett and other local dignitaries were given a tour of the new hospital.
Harriett commented: “This new community hospital is quite exceptionally light, airy and spacious. The children's play area in the waiting room and the walls of the hospital have all been enhanced by beautiful local artists. The facilities are exceptional and the range of services that are delivered at the hospital is large and expanding.
“The hospital is very eco-friendly. Even the car park has been attractively designed. The project team bought the development in on time and under budget without a burdensome PFI contract.
“I know that Lin Ingles and her staff do an amazing job and it was wonderful that Princess Anne was able to officially open the facility.
“There is no doubt that we have a hospital to be really proud of and I hope that this building will serve the people of Malvern as well as its predecessor did.”
