West Worcestershire parliamentary candidate Harriett Baldwin today welcomed measures set out in today’s Conservative manifesto to help people who work hard, do the right thing and want to get on in life. An example is the extension of the Right to Buy scheme which will allow up to 1.3 million families realise the dream of owning their own home. And the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate today visited housing association properties in Hallow, near Worcester to announce the pledge to local residents. Harriett said: “If a Conservative majority Government is returned in May we will not only pursue full employment but we'll bring in new policies to help working people, like extra childcare, Help to Buy and a tax free minimum wage. “The Help to Buy scheme rolled out by George Osborne in the last Parliament has been a great success. The Conservative party has a long track record helping people to get onto the housing ladder and I am sure local families will welcome this manifesto commitment. “After five years of making tough decisions and developing a long-term economic plan, Britain is back on the right track. “This Conservative manifesto is a commitment to offering security to hard-working people at every stage of their life. I hope that this document forms part of the compelling case for voting both for me in West Worcestershire and Conservatives across the country.” Photo: Pictured in Hallow today (l-r) Guy Bryan-Brown, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Harriett Baldwin and Jed Marson.
