West Worcestershire Conservative candidate Harriett Baldwin yesterday continued her work to press the case for Government funding to dual-track the Carrington Road bridge. Harriett met with Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin along with fellow local Conservative parliamentary candidates Nigel Huddleston and Robin Walker to discuss much-needed cash to improve road and rail links for the county. Harriett commented: “I am pleased that the Minister took the time to visit the scene and listen to our arguments for this much needed road improvement. “Together with my Westminster colleagues, I have continually pressed for cash to carry out this work and raised the matter with the Prime Minister last February when he visited Upton-upon-Severn. “A strong local economy needs 21st Century infrastructure. It is essential that we stick to the long-term economic plan which will enable a Conservative majority Government deliver on this major improvement project.” Photo: Robin Walker, Patrick McLoughlin, Harriett Baldwin and Nigel Huddleston on Carrington Road.
