West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has met with mobile phone operator Three to press for better mobile phone signals across the county.
The MP met with the phone company to discuss its plans to improve phone signals across the county as well as plans to roll out 4G signals.
Towns like Upton-upon-Severn and Pershore suffer from poor mobile phone signals and Harriett has called on all the mobile phone operators to boost their service coverage.
Harriett commented: “I have had complaints from constituents about the quality of mobile services in Upton and Pershore and was eager to pass this message on to Three.
“I am told that Three will be making a lot of progress in the next two years, by using the newly available 800Mhz spectrum to improve coverage across the area. This doesn’t usually require new masts but does need new technology.
“Together the phone companies have promised £5 billion to improve connections, particularly in rural areas.
“To my mind, this investment cannot come quickly enough and I welcome this news from Three”
Three’s Parliamentary Affairs manager, Jennifer Amphlett added: “We are investing heavily in our network in 2015 and 2016 to bring it to more people in more places.
“We will be rolling out new radio spectrum which will enhance our coverage in West Worcestershire. When we met with Harriett, we discussed how these improvements will benefit our customers in the area.”
