West Worcestershire Conservative candidate Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a major funding boost which will see a new sixth form centre built at Hanley Castle High School.
Harriett has been written to by headteacher Lyndsey Cooke thanking her for the lobbying Harriett carried out to secure a green light for the project.
The building work will start during the summer and will give the school new classrooms, a computer suite a common room and rooms for independent study.
The letter thanks Harriett for her support and adds: “None of this could have been achieved without your support.”
Harriett commented: “I am so pleased that the Hanley Castle High School bid was successful.
“It is important that we support all of our schools to create the best possible environment to help our children to excel at school.
“As well as backing the campaign to secure £4.9 million in extra schools funding, I have backed capital projects like this for new classrooms in Pershore, Hanley Castle, Malvern and Tenbury and Great Malvern Primary School.
“These investments are possible because the long term economic plan is working well and this could not be a better example of how Conservatives commit to fixing the roof while the sun shines.
“There is still much to do and I hope that the voters will back my track record on May 7 and allow me to continue be a strong voice for fairer funding for schools in Westminster.”
