West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today welcomed Business Secretary Vince Cable whom she had invited to her constituency to share the message that many Malvern businesses are growing.
The MP joined the Secretary of State on a tour of Morgan Motors and Malvern Hills Science Park and had discussions about growth plans for the town.
Dr Cable has been on a whistle stop tour of the area and held meetings with Malvern Hills District council chief executive Chris Bocock and met the Worcestershire LEP Board and the Chief Executive of the local Chamber of Commerce.
Harriett commented: “I was pleased to welcome the Secretary of State to the constituency and take a tour of some of the local success stories.
“As well as the tour of our successful Morgan factory, it was helpful to show him some of the good news stories coming out of the Science Park.
“We were also able to tell him some of the growth plans which will hopefully provide further opportunities for local companies to grow and succeed in Malvern.
“Dr Cable was showed the latest Morgan car range and was told about the apprenticeship scheme which currently has 12 apprentices.
“We were able to discuss how companies including Goodrich, Metrasens, Roar Forensics, 3SC and Borwell are growing fast on the Science Park.
“Overall, we were able to tell a good story and Malvern and 'cyber valley' are firmly on the map with government.”
