Harriett Baldwin as been re-elected as Conservative MP for West Worcestershire, after seeing her majority tripled. Harriett polled 30,342 – 56 per cent of the votes cast - lifting her majority to 22,578 from 6,854 in 2010. Conservatives also secured control of Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils at counts completed yesterday (May 8). Harriett commented: “I would like to thank everyone who put their confidence in me to represent the area once again. “The voters backed my priorities for West Worcestershire and I pledge to campaign for them - even higher employment, 21st Century infrastructure and fairer funding for our local schools. “This result is also a clear vote of confidence in David Cameron and the Conservatives and the long term economic plan to eliminate the deficit, reach full employment and rebalance the economy. “I’d also like to congratulate all the Conservative councillors elected to run administrations in Wychavon and Malvern Hills and thank all those who stood for public office, as well as those who worked all day and night on the election to ensure our democracy runs smoothly.”
