West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin was given a VIP tour of a brand-new Malvern primary school as it embarks on an exciting new term.
The MP visited Malvern Vale Primary School, which has just welcomed its second year of new students in the newly-built classrooms.
Harriett joined pupils in their art class as well as chatting to executive head Chris Hansen and senior teacher Jennie Price.
The school was built by Worcestershire County Council to add extra school places following new housing construction across Malvern. The school is a satellite of Somers Park Primary School, which is operating close to capacity.
Harriett commented: “It’s always great to tour one of our local primary schools and meet the pupils and their dedicated teachers. Malvern Vale pupils are starting their education in wonderful new premises.
“By forming part of the wider Somers Park family and Mercian Educational Trust, the school can benefit from a strong and supportive administrative framework. The spending review has put school funding on a secure footing for future years.
“Demand for places is already high. It’s a great place to learn and I look forward to seeing more parents choosing to send their children to this impressive new school in years to come.”
