Harriett Baldwin has urged Wychavon District Council to listen to concerns raised by Pershore people about the need to protect green spaces around the town. And Harriett, who is the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire, has spoken to council leader Bradley Thomas about the latest version of the South Worcestershire Development Plan and, in particular, the proposed development at Tiddesley Wood. Harriett has submitted her own comments on this plan as part of the consultation process and has urged Pershore people to have their say before the December 16 deadline. Harriett commented: “This specific development has caused a high level of local concern and I have spoken to Bradley as well as formally writing to the managing director of Wychavon District Council sharing the many opposing views I have received on this matter. “I have always urged planners to ensure that we protect green spaces and build adequate green buffer space between developments. Specific applications are considered by district councillors, but I have been keen to share the local views which have reached my desk on the Tiddesley Wood plan. “Pershore has had a lot of housing development over recent years and I hope that the new long-term planning blueprint will ensure we get the right number of new houses on sites where local people agree to them.”
