West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a £200,000 project which will help to improve care for dementia sufferers across the county. The MP visited Howbury House, in Pickersleigh Grove, Malvern to see a technology trial in action which helps to monitor residents and track their movement. The data will allow patients to get the best possible care and the results of the trial will be shared with other local care providers to see if it can be adopted further in years to come. Harriett toured the popular facility with Worcestershire County Councillor Adrian Hardman who is the cabinet member for adult social care. The pair chatted to residents and were treated to tea and cake provided by long- serving catering supervisor Ian Clifton who is set to celebrate 20 years working at the unit. Harriett commented: “Howbury House is a highly valued community resource and it was great to pop in to show my support for the great work carried out by staff here. “I was reassured to be told how important the facility is for the County so it was really useful to chat to Adrian Hardman and his team to confirm that the facility has got investment to continue its good work. “With people living longer and some developing complex care needs, it is great to know that there are places like Howbury House in the area which offer expert care and a high quality of life.” Photo: Ian Clifton, Cllr Adrian Hardman, resident Hilda Jansen and Harriett Baldwin MP.
