Harriett Baldwin has welcomed today's manifesto pledge which will see and extra £8 billion invested in the NHS. The Conservative candidate for West Worcestershire shared the good news with local people during a visit to Pershore today (May 18). The manifesto, unveiled today by Theresa May, confirmed that at least £8 billion of extra cash will be allocated to the NHS over the next five years - delivering an increase in real funding per head of population for every year of the Parliament. Harriett has been a strong campaigner for the NHS speaking up both for the hard working doctors and nurses at Worcestershire Royal Hospital but also those who work to keep the health service functioning smoothly at GP surgeries, at the highly-valued community hospitals and across the whole health economy. Harriett commented: “I am highly supportive of our NHS and welcome this Conservative commitment to spend an extra £8 billion making sure we have the best possible healthcare free at the point of use. “Locally, the NHS has seen an extra £30 million investment allocated since 2010 and I know that this additional money pledge will be welcomed as we aim to deliver the best possible service for Worcestershire people. “I hope that local people join me in celebrating this fabulous news and choose to vote for me on June 8 and help to deliver a strong, stable Government led by Theresa May.” Photo: Harriett Baldwin, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire, celebrates the £8 billion NHS manifesto pledge with Councillor Val Wood.
