West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin this week called on Worcestershire people to make the most of local sporting opportunities to help secure the Olympic legacy.
Harriett commented: “These games will have inspired a generation to get more involved in sport and here in Worcestershire we are very fortunate to have the facilities to give young people a chance to experience lots of different Olympic sports.
“There are six National Cycling routes in the County with more planned and lots of other local cycle routes.
“There’s also a wide range of sports clubs where you can take up gymnastics, judo, mountain biking, equestrian, water sports, archery, tennis or even clay pigeon shooting. Many local schools have received grants to upgrade their sports facilities.
“Above all let’s not forget the devoted mums, dads, teachers, volunteers and carers who give so much time to getting young people to and from their sporting activities – without them we would not be enjoying this Olympic success.”
