West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has today offered her support to a Government drive to expand trade with fast-growing international markets for county businesses.
And the MP is helping to publicise two trips led by Midlands MPs to two key emerging markets which are open to local businesses.
Stourbridge MP Margot James is leading a trip to Singapore in March on behalf of the Government and Gloucester MP Richard Graham will travel to Indonesia in his role as the Government trade envoy.
Both MPs are eager to hear from companies which may want to trade with or expand into the two countries and export experts will be able to guide companies on how best to do business abroad.
Harriett commented: “Last year I ran a very successful international trade fair which has opened up markets for local companies and led directly to Russia lifting a ban on British meat.
“The Government is working hard to help companies get into new export markets and South-East Asia is a key focus for the next few months.
“I am eager to make sure that local companies get the chance to take advantage of this effort and I would be happy to submit names of anyone who want to be considered for one of the trips.”
Companies which want to trade with either country should contact Harriett at her constituency office and names will be passed on the relevant MP.
