Harriett Baldwin today offered her support to a Government scheme which offers help for disabled jobseekers. Government funds will offer support for companies which offer jobs to disabled people as well as providing backing for disabled people setting up their own business. The funding is worth up to £2,300 per worker and is aimed at small companies and start-ups. Harriett commented: “The Government has introduced a number of schemes which offer support to companies which can offer work to disabled people. “The Paralympics showed us all that many people overcome tremendous obstacles to achieve their goals and it is important that any employer who wants to can help more disabled people to succeed. “I would urge any employer who can to talk to their local job centre and see what funding they can access to help a disabled jobseeker into work. “More than 123,000 new jobs have been created for disabled people but I am sure there is much more we can do as a society to help.”
