West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her backing to plans to improve the Ketch roundabout on the outskirts of Worcester.
Worcestershire County Council is planning to spend £8 million improving the busy roundabout which is a vital link between Malvern and M5 junction.
Harriett has written to the consultation process being run by the county council supporting the proposal.
Harriett commented: “I welcome all attempts to ease the journey between Malvern and the M5 which can be quite dreadful at peak times.
“The roads are clogged up too often and anything which eases congestion has got to be good for businesses and commuters.
“I have asked the county council to ensure that they learn from the mistakes of the development at Whittington and make sure that the configuration eases traffic flow from the Malvern direction as well as those cars leaving Worcester.
“I have lobbied the Local Enterprise Partnership and the Department for Transport to invest money into improving the whole section of the
A4440 and I mentioned the urgent need to dual the Carrington Road bridge during the Prime Minister's visit last week.”
