West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her backing to a local manufacturing firm which makes critical defence equipment to protect troops from improvised bombs. Bredon-based Geometric Manufacturing machines aluminium enclosures and other components to help armed forces prevent the explosion of devices in battlefields across the world. The MP was given a tour of the company’s factory in Bredon and talked about the opportunities and challenges facing the business which has been trading for more than 30 years. Harriett commented: “It is great to meet with a local business making high-spec kit for a variety of industries from aerospace to defence contractors. “The company employs local people and also offers apprenticeships opportunities, and I am keen to support them in their efforts to grow the business. “They are investing for the future with sophisticated new machinery and seeking support from the Worcestershire Growth Fund and I hope that their application is successful allowing the company to further grow and hopefully, create more new jobs.” Geometric Manufacturing’s Paul Wenham added: “We’re privileged to work for some fantastic customers both locally and nationally who are world leaders in their fields of defence electronics, electronic countermeasures, and secure communications.
