West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her support to Prime Minister Theresa May ahead of a vote of confidence in the House of Commons today.
The House of Commons failed to back the Withdrawal Agreement and the Government will face a confidence vote tonight (Wednesday, January 16).
Harriett commented: “I have supported the Prime Minister as she attempts to negotiate a deal to leave the European Union and the Withdrawal Agreement, in my view, remains the best solution for delivering this.
“Those who voted against the Withdrawal Agreement need to now say what they would agree to and the Government stands ready to listen.
“I have always said that my constituents want certainty – especially the businesses who trade with Europe – and I hope that the Government will work swiftly to resolve this issue.
“The Prime Minister has my full support and I look forward to her winning tonight’s vote of confidence. A general election is not in the national interest and the public simply want us to get on with the process of an orderly exit from the European Union.”
