West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her support to a campaign to help promote small Worcestershire businesses.
The MP was taken to meet a Malvern-based independent financial adviser as part of ‘Small Business Saturday’ run by the Federation of Small Business to discuss some of the challenges faced by smaller enterprises.
Harriett offered her backing to the campaign which aims to promote the importance of local small businesses and the role they play in their community.
The Federation has identified December 7 as Small Business Saturday and will be running events across the county to publicise the campaign.
Harriett commented: “I am pleased to offer my support to the Federation of Small Business campaign and it was useful to meet one-to-one with a small financial planner to talk about the specific issues he faces.
“Small businesses are the engine room of our economic recovery and I will take the message back to Westminster that we must do all we can to help them succeed.”
Ken Wigfield added: “Small Business Saturday aims to raise the profile of the county’s small businesses and to create a legacy which continues for years to come encouraging people to trade with their local suppliers.
“We are grateful for Harriett Baldwin's time to help promote this initiative and hope it spreads the word that small business is vital now and in the future.”
