Malvern MP Harriett Baldwin today welcomed the decision to allow more time to consider the future of the town’s youth centre.
The MP has written to the Council on behalf of constituents to ask them to look at a range of options for the site at Albert Road North.
The county council yesterday wrote to the MP confirming that it will allow extra time to deliberate on the issue.
Harriett commented: "I am glad that the County Council is taking two more months to evaluate all the alternatives.
“Contrary to the fears of some I have met, and some correspondence, there has never been any threat of closing a youth facility on this site.
“There are a range of options for the site, which some want left as it is, or it could be used to create a new facility for young people, with additional room for further education and some new housing too.
“I hope everyone uses the council's period of delay to engage with all the options."
