West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has called on Malvern Vale housing developer Persimmon to speed up work to complete work on the estate’s drains.
The developer promised to complete vital work at the new housing development a year ago allowing the Worcestershire County Council to formally take over the roads and complete final surfacing work.
However, a dispute between Persimmon and Severn Trent has led to roads remaining unfinished with no end in sight.
On the anniversary of her last letter, Harriett has written to Persimmon Homes managing director Andrew Peters to urge the company to press on with the long-overdue work.
Harriett said: “I was given promises that the work would be complete over 12 months ago but it seems that the developer simply hasn’t found a solution for the drainage issues that works for either Severn Trent or the county council.
“I’m extremely disappointed that I have had to write, once again, to the company. I hold my advice surgery in Malvern Vale Community Centre so I am well aware of how poor the roads are.
“Persimmon is pressing ahead with development in other parts of the county. Maybe they should put this on hold and finish off this long-overdue work in Malvern Vale allowing the county council to get on and finish the roads.”
