West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today called on small businesses to share their red tape nightmare stories to try and find ways to help entrepreneurs to succeed.
The MP is planning to pass on the evidence to the Business Department to try and help them to strip out unhelpful regulations.
Business Minister Mark Prisk has written to Harriett asking for local feedback on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the county.
Harriett commented: “Small business success is critical to economic growth and we need to make it as easy as possible for entrepreneurs to start up and create jobs.
“I know that the Government is trying to strip out as many unnecessary regulations as possible and it is important that we get feedback from local businesses to try and make this initiative as effective as possible.
“We need to create an environment where people think it will be easy and worthwhile to set up a new business and I know the Government is eager to strip out all the red tape to make this possible.
“I am eager to hear from ay constituent who has a horror story to share with me on red tape problems. It is something we need to fix urgently and the more evidence, I can gather locally, the more compelling our case will be.”
