West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin this week celebrated Community Action’s 40th birthday at a party in Malvern.
And the MP arrived at the celebration in style in Morgan Motors's stylish three-wheeler car.
Harriett praised the efforts of the charity which provides vital transport for people attending medical appointments across the West Midlands.
More than 50 volunteers have driven 58,000 miles last year helping elderly and vulnerable members of the community to get out and about including popular shopping trips.
The charity runs car services and a minibus route and Harriett became the latest passenger being driven from her office at Malvern Hills Science Park to the charity’s AGM at the Mount Pleasant Hotel, Malvern.
Harriett commented: “Community Action offers a vital lifeline to many members of our community and I am full of praise for their hard work throughout the year.
“I know that they need more volunteers and I would urge anyone who has a little free time to help out if they can.
“Many people depend on the service to get to hospital appointments or just to do a weekly shop and it really is a vital lifeline for some.
“I would also pay tribute to the work of Jacci Phillips and her team who make sure that this service is available to so many local people.”
Jacci Phillips, chief officer of Community Action added: "It was wonderful that Harriett could join us for our celebration.
“We are very proud that we have been able to serve the local community for 40 years and it is thanks to our volunteers that we are so successful.
“At our party we raised our glass to them and to everyone who works so hard to make Community Action the great charity that it is.”
