Harriett Baldwin has praised efforts by local people to create a stunning new ‘eco-friendly’ village hall. The MP was speaking on a tour of the newly-constructed village hall at Defford-cum-Besford near Pershore. Harriett unveiled the building last Friday (May 13) at a ceremony attended by local dignitaries and supporters. Harriett said: “This village hall is stunning building in a stunning location. Everyone is to be congratulated for a massive effort to get the building completed on time and on budget. “The design is amazing and I think the measures to make this a low energy building are a huge plus point. “The local community has worked incredibly hard both raising funds and helping out with the construction and the results are very worthwhile. “I hope this is a village hall which will serve the community for many hundreds of years to come.”
