A village store and post office which was rescued by community volunteers is planning to expand into new premises. And West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin, who supported the venture and opened the new village store five years ago, has today offered her congratulations to the volunteers who can now move into a more permanent home. The village store and post office has operated out of a portacabin but will be moving into a permanent building next door, which is expected to open in January. Harriett commented: “I discussed the success of the store with local people when I visited Alfrick Show in the summer and I was delighted to hear the plans to move into a permanent home. “Alfrick’s successful village store and post office has been made possible by a dedicated group of local volunteers who have done an amazing job preserving this community resource. “I look forward to seeing the new building and joining the village in welcoming the opening of a new, permanent store early next year.”
