West Worcestershire MP Dame Harriett Baldwin has shared her concern about the decline of high street banking services following the announcement that another bank plans to close in Great Malvern.
Santander has announced the closure of 95 branches including the bank’s branch on Worcester Road in the centre of Malvern.
LINK, which runs a cashpoint network and is the body responsible for making sure people have access to cash, today wrote to Dame Harriett to confirm that this closure will not trigger the need for a multi-bank hub in Malvern because other banks have branches in the town.
Dame Harriett said:
“I am sure that Santander customers in Malvern will be concerned at another bank closure and I urge anyone who feels they will be badly affected by this decision to get in touch with my office and I will write to the Chief Executive to raise their concerns.”
